Our Story
David and Douglas Meadows, third-generation jewelers, have been helping Atlanta-area customers select quality diamonds since the early 1980s. Our David Douglas Diamonds & Jewelry stores provide a friendly atmosphere where you can shop with confidence
We make it easy for you to buy diamonds and jewelry at fair prices. We import gemstones from around the world and stock a wide selection of mountings. We can also custom design or redesign a distinctive setting for your precious stones. And, we provide repair and appraisal services.
For more than 75 years, the Meadows family of jewelers has maintained a tradition of fine craftsmanship and quality service to their customers. That legacy of selling, designing, and repairing fine jewelry with honesty and integrity began with Arthur Meadows, the grandfather of David and Douglas. Arthur learned the trade in Canada, then opened his own jewelry business—Work of Art—in Detroit in 1926.
All three of Arthur's three sons learned the trade from their father. The two eldest sons eventually took over the company, renaming it Sons of Art. Diamond and jewelry design and repair had now become intertwined in the lives and lineage of the Meadows' family. Eventually, Arthur’s grandsons started working at the shop in Michigan, learning the fundamentals and mastering the skills to become professional jewelers.
In the early 1980s, Douglas moved to Marietta and opened Pure Gold in Cumberland Mall. David followed in 1986, and they began contracting services with Kaminski Jewelry. In 1997, the brothers purchased Cherokee Jewelers in Woodstock (known today asDavid Douglas Diamonds & Jewelry). The brothers left Kaminski’s in 2003, and shortly thereafter opened the David Douglas Diamonds and Jewelry store in Marietta.
As our family-oriented business has evolved through the years, our goal is still to produce quality jewelry, to offer reliable workmanship, and to honor all who God brings our way. We want to make our family a part of your family by providing trustworthy service as your neighborhood jeweler at both of our locations in Marietta and Woodstock.
