Pearls can last for generations if cared for properly.
You may gently wipe your pearls with a slightly damp (not wet), soft cloth. Be sure not to dip them in water or wear them while bathing, as water may weaken the silk thread. Do not leave them in direct sunlight of expose them to high temperatures.
Pearls should be kept free of cosmetics, perfumes, hairspray and dirt. If build-up does accumulate, a very mild soap may be used.
Cultured pearls are typically strung on silk thread. Over time, the silk thread may weaken, stretch or become soiled. If you wear your cultured pearls regularly, we encourage you to have your pearls cleaned and restrung annually. |
